On April 14th, 2020, GRLA had the pleasure of hosting Pauline Brown, the Former Chairman of North America for LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, in a webinar. Mrs. Brown shared her impressive career experiences curating global luxury brands, directing strategy at Estée Lauder, growing consumer and retail practice as a Managing Director at The Carlyle Group, and teaching at the Harvard Business School. Her particular attention to aesthetics, which was published in her most recent book Aesthetic Intelligence, was extensively discussed as an untapped competitive advantage businesses can have. Through sharing fascinating anecdotes from her experiences, Mrs. Brown emphasized the importance of harnessing aesthetic empathy, sensory experiences, and emotional capabilities of products beyond their mere functions and cost-benefit assessments people usually associate them with.
